We operate in roughly a one hour radius of our home base in Alstead, NH
Contracting is where this whole thing started. Between us, we bring decades of hands-on experience framing houses, laying stone, doing site work, and finishing spaces that people actually love living in. We have worked on homes and businesses across the Monadnock Region and the Connecticut River Valley for a long time, and that work is still the center of what we do. See the About Us page to learn more about who we are.
We are not trying to be the largest outfit in our area. We take on a limited number of projects each year so we can actually care about each one. Every job we accept gets our direct attention. If we are building something with our name on it, it is going to be done right — or we will tell you honestly that it is not the right fit before you sign anything.
Our work is roughly half residential and half commercial. We have been part of construction projects for a number of local businesses and community spaces over the years, and we genuinely enjoy that side of the work. There is something satisfying about building something that the public gets to use and appreciate, and about being part of a community that way. It does not feel like a job in the same way a generic bid job does.
If you have worked with contractors before who talked big and delivered small, handed the job off after the contract was signed, or cut corners in the places that are hardest to see — we understand why you are skeptical. We would be too.

What We Build
Frame to Finish Construction
New builds, additions, and structural work from the ground up. We have done this long enough to know exactly where the details that matter are — and where the temptation to take shortcuts usually shows up. We do not cut corners on structure, weather barrier, or finish work. It is not worth it to us professionally, and it is not worth it to us personally.
Dry Laid Stone Patios and Walls
This is work we genuinely love. Dry laid stone, built without mortar and done correctly, is some of the most durable and beautiful hardscaping you can put on a New England property. It moves with the frost instead of cracking against it. It looks better as it ages. We are selective about these projects because good stonework takes time and cannot be rushed. If you want it done fast and cheap, we are not the right people. If you want it done so well it looks like it has always been there, let’s talk.
Site Work and Excavation
Grading, drainage, driveway prep, lot clearing, and foundation prep. This is unglamorous work that most people do not think about until something goes wrong. We think about it first, because what happens underground determines everything above it. Getting site work right at the beginning is far less expensive than correcting it later.
Decks, Garages, and Outdoor Structures
Designed and built to last in a New Hampshire and Vermont climate — which means proper ledger connections, real footings below frost, and materials chosen for longevity rather than the lowest line on the estimate. Decks and outdoor structures that are built correctly the first time look better, hold up longer, and cost less to maintain over time.
Renovations and Custom Carpentry
Interior and exterior renovations, additions, custom built-ins, finish carpentry, and the kind of detail work that makes a space feel considered rather than assembled. We do repair work too — if something needs to be fixed and done right, we are happy to talk about it regardless of the scale.
Commercial Work
About half our project load is commercial. We have worked with local businesses and organizations on construction, renovation, and build-out projects throughout the region. Commercial work has its own demands — scheduling around operations, working efficiently in active spaces, delivering on a timeline that affects someone’s business — and we take that seriously. Being part of something that a community gets to use and benefit from is one of the more rewarding parts of what we do.
Where We Work
We keep the contracting side of the business intentionally local. We work within roughly an hour of our base in Alstead, NH. Beyond that radius, everyday commutes become impractical and the quality of our attention to a project starts to suffer — which is not something we are willing to accept.
That radius puts us in the heart of the Monadnock Region and reaches into the Upper Valley, the Lake Sunapee area, and the Connecticut River Valley towns on both sides of the New Hampshire and Vermont border. Communities we regularly serve include Keene, Walpole, Charlestown, Newport, Claremont, Sunapee, New London, Springfield, Grantham, Cornish, Plainfield, Alstead, Langdon, Acworth, Marlow, Lempster, Goshen, Washington, and the surrounding communities.
If you are not sure whether you fall within range, just ask. We will give you a straight answer.
Is This a Good Fit?
We are not the right contractors for every project, and we will tell you that upfront rather than wasting your time or ours. We work best with clients who care about quality, have thought through what they want, and understand that good work has an honest cost. We do not low-ball estimates to win jobs and make it up on change orders. You get a straight number and a straight timeline.
We are also selective about project volume by design. Taking on fewer projects means each one gets the attention it deserves. That is not a marketing line — it is how we actually operate, and it is the only way we know how to do good work consistently.
If that sounds like what you are looking for, reach out and tell us about your project. We will give you an honest answer about whether it is something we can take on, when we might be available, and what a realistic conversation looks like from here.
